The SMSF Professionals' Association of Australia Limited (SPAA)

The SMSF Professionals' Association of Australia is the peak professional body for SMSF Advisors in Australia. SPAA's core focus and objective is to raise the standard of advice provided by all professionals to the SMSF industry. This is only possible through professional leadership, liaison with government bodies, ongoing education and establishing professional knowledge and skills standards.

The association is committed to promoting a high standard of education among SMSF professionals and assisting them to work within the regulatory framework. This, in turn will help the industry to self-regulate and promote best practice.

SPAA is the first association or organisation within the Financial Services Industry in Australia to develop an independent, transparent, audited assessment programme for its members seeking the SPAA accreditation, certification designation in recognition of their knowledge and skills as an SMSF Advisor. Also, SPAA has developed independent National professional standards which underpin the association's education program. These standards have been incorporated into an independent Education Program allowing Members Only to access independent accreditation program to achieve the SMSF Specialist Advisor and SMSF Specialist Auditor.

SPAA is committed to raising industry standards by developing and maintaining currency of those standards and working with the regulatory bodies in assisting in the development of Industry standards for advice in SMSFs.
